T-Ball!

Cannon and his Cubs had their first T-Ball game last night. What a fun hour! The kids just cracked me up. The whole team runs for the ball when someone bats it, and most of them ran where ever after batting instead of first base! The point is, they had lots of fun! So did the spectators!

The Lets-Not-Meet-At-A-Funeral Party

Recently, my Great Uncle Nick passed away. My sister and I went to the funeral together, and we had the best time! Is that weird? We saw so many cousins that we haven't seen since the last family funeral. We decided to plan a party and get together on a happier occasion. We are descended from Yugoslavian immigrants. "Bohunk" is an ethnic slur referring to someone of slavic descent. We had these t-shirts made up, and every one wore them, didn't they turn out great?
This is me and my second cousin Billy Brown. He is one of my favorite people on the planet, so funny, and so kind. I kind of think my dad would be a lot like him if he wasn't so cranky.
The people in the middle are Manda and Ivan Matievich, my Great Grandparents. Ivan owned a meat store in Murray when he moved here, apparently a swanky job. Check out that suit! We had lots of old family pics like this at our party. It was a wonderful treat. I love old pictures so much.

Topaz Mountain pt. 2

Well, Greg, Cannon, and Grandpa Gary made the trek to Topaz Mountain again! Last time it was just Greg and Cannon, and they got BUPKISS! This time they all did extra research and took more tools, they were determined to hit pay dirt!
I don't know where this place is, somewhere down south. Quite a drive.
Quite a hike too! And Greg did most of it with Cannon on his back! What a good Dad.
They did it though! I was amazed at all they found! I think it's so pretty. I'm sure Greg and Cannon will do something creative with it.

Fun Fall Harvest!

Thursday turned out to be harvest day at WaWa's. Austyn and Cannon helped pick tomatoes, peaches, cucumbers, and carrots. Lots of hard work! They both had dirt up their noses!
I was loving the smell of the carrots fresh out of the dirt. Have you ever smelled that before? Also, I think tomato leaves smell wonderful. I wanted to make a pot of stew right there!
We're really excited to feel the crisp fall air and see the leaves start to change. Also, it's time for fall decorations, crafts, and all things pumpkin! What are your favorite things about fall?

Room In Progress

Here's what I've got so far...... material for a quilt and curtains. I'm starting an applique class this week, so exciting!
A cute "dream" sign and a vintage picture to get framed....
AND, my favorite!!! My mother in law got this for me yesterday when I fell in love with it at an antique store. Can't wait to get it all fixed up. It's a night stand with shelves and in it and a drawer. I absolutely LOVE it! Thank you Sylvia (and Gary!)
