Christmas

Someone had their first Christmas! I have a feeling that she wasn't too excited...
We woke up to a VERY white Christmas this year! The wind pelted the snow on all the houses in our neighborhood, it looked like a winter wonderland. We almost got snowed in though! We got stuck a bit on the way out of our neighborhood. Yikes! I'm glad we were able to get out to both Grandma's houses. I would miss being with family, my favorite part of the holiday.
Merry Christmas! (a little late) Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Big Brother

Yesterday I got out of the house!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!! I took the kids to my mom's house. I have 2 carseats in my back seat now!
Yesterday Harper was a week old. And Cannon finally requested to hold her. Poor boy, his world is out of order! He's adjusting quite nicely though. Lots of changes for all of us!! I think we'll start having a party at 2am, since we all seem to be awake at that time.
Baby is still sleepy all day and awake at night! We're trying to bug her a lot in the daytime so she'll switch that around.
Only a week till Christmas, and that means another outing! This month always seems to fly by so fast, more so this year for sure!

New Moonvine Products

Natalie and I have been working on some recipes for scented products! Here's what we've come up with: Wonderful soy candles and organic sugar scrubs!

Soy melts at a lower temperature, so when the candle is melted you can use it to moisturize your skin. It's natural, so it just absorbs right in. Perfect for dry and chapped winter hands and cuticles. Plus, you can smell like your favorite candle! $10.00

Now let's address "furnace skin". I love that we have a working furnace to make us nice and toasty when the weather's cold, but man! Dry heat does a number on your skin. Sugar scrub is excellent at getting to that good layer that isn't all dry and itchy! The sugar exfoliates, and the oils moisturize. Two steps in one. $20.00

Find this and other great gift ideas at www.moonvine.us And if you live here and would like to save on shipping, just contact me directly and we can get your product to you!

Thanks!

Girth before Birth...

Good lord.....I am huge. I'm out of breath. I can't move around very well. Everything hurts. I have major heartburn. My nausea has returned, but I have gestational diabetes so I can't really eat much anyway. I feel like a ticking time bomb! Yipes!

I had another Dr. appointment yesterday, and since I haven't dilated anymore, I was let off of restricted bed rest. Now it's only partial. That was the best! I DROVE yesterday!!! And my mom and I took Cannon to see Bolt. A very cute, non-agenda movie. We all really liked it.

So now I feel like a person again, I can do a little more, which makes me very happy. Still some baby stuff to get ready.

And it's DECEMBER!!! I can't believe that one. We will be having the simplest Christmas around here. We'll see how it goes. Just a tree, no major decorating. Maybe we'll get a Christmas card out, maybe we won't. Maybe I'll get some toffee made, maybe not. Most important is for Cannon to have a good time.

And, I'm so lucky that gift-giving isn't out of hand in my world. On my side of the family, we all draw names. Everyone has something to open when we're all together on Christmas Day, and it's just right. We are all so happy to be crowded into my parent's little house eating my mom's good food. That's what makes us happiest. No stress.

On Greg's side this year, we're just letting the Grandparents do for the kids. WONDERFUL! We don't see Greg's brothers and their families very often, so it is always fun to be together. Plus, don't you think Christmas is for kids anyway? It's much more fun to watch their delight when they open gifts. I always get a lump in my throat. What a boob!

What do you think about Christmas gift giving?

See you when I see you.....

Well, I'm officially out of commission! I just got out of the hospital, where it took 2 days to stop some pre-term labor. Yikes. So I'll just be in bed for a bit, but every day it gets safer for Baby Girl to be born. We got some steroids on board to finish up her lungs.
Hope every one has a great Thanksgiving, I'll post when I can......

Snow Day

Mother Nature was busy last night! We woke up to a nice thick blanket of snow! The first thing Cannon said when he looked out the window this morning was, "YES!!!! I LOVE snow! It's winter time!" So when he got home from pre school we went out and did this:

Happy Halloween!

Hope you all had fun!!! It was cold and windy all day here, but the weather cleared up a bit for Trick-or-Treating. Luckily Cannon had some muscles to keep him warm!

What a busy evening, and some kids from the neighborhood came back twice, like I wouldn't recognise them! Duh! And another kid said, "Trick-or Treat, smell my butt!" I told him that was weak, it didn't even rhyme! Crazy kids!

Today those rotting smelling pumpking carcasses will go in the trash..... and now we'll get ready for Turkey Day!

Birdies

Saturday while I was at a Moonvine Organics boutique, Greg and Cannon met up with Greg, Alex, and Riley, and Tyson and Steph at the Tracy Aviary. It's at Liberty Park. I didn't even know it was still there! They all had a great time, and Cannon's favorite was the yellow parrott.

Scarecrow Festival

We go to the Scarecrow festival every year, what a fun time! It's been at Thanksgiving point the last couple of years, so it's bigger than ever. Cannon went on EVERY single bouncy thing! He was pooped out!
All of the bouncies smelled like dirty feet to me. I wonder why? Looks like Cannon found the answer. He took an extra long bath that night......
He always makes sure to get a pumpkin painted on his face. Cute!
This year Cannon got a balloon spider from "Robo the Clown" Greg wondered if the clown had a Robitussin problem...... maybe? It was a really nice day, I got a little sunburn on my forehead! Can't wait for next year!

Last Game

Last night was Cannon's last T Ball game, and it was the BEST!!! What a good game, and a big prize at the end: A TROPHY.
Cannon has been in heaven ever since! He told us it's made of real gold and it's shiny because someone waxed it. He is sooo proud of it, and he carries it every where. He even had us take it to show Papa Johnny Mack today! It's fun to see him so thrilled!

It's so fun to see all these milestones, and watch him grow up and get so big. It makes the parents proud too.
He's doing more and more on his own, with other kids and not Mom and Dad. I'm happy to see him interacting with others so well. You never know, right? Just teach them the best way you know how and send them out into the world! Sometimes it feels like jumping off a building, but it always works out! Luckily.

Playing Tag

Thanks Erica, for the tag! I'm actually playing along this time! The assignment was, post the 4th picture in your 4th folder and explain it...... This is my lovely sister Stacy and her husband Jason. They had pictures done this summer and she had me scan some for her. They are still on my computer! Anyway, she is so wonderful, she always has a place for anyone at her dinner table, and she helps EVERYONE she sees. She is also good in a crisis, the one with the even head. She's been married to Jason for 20 years! He is so wonderful, just like the big brother I never had.

The second part of the tag is:

1. What time do you wake up: usually 8am or so

2. On a good night, what time are your kids in bed? 7:45

3. How long have you been a Mommy? 3 1/2 years

4. How old were you when you became a mom? almost 28

5. What's your favorite chore? Yard work, laundry

6. Favorite meal to cook? any kind of chicken pasta

7.What do you cook most often? grilled cheese (me too Erica!)

8. What is your kid's fave. meal? any kind of fruit, baked potato, and chicken

9. 5 things about being a mom that make you smile: 1- watching him sleep 2- seeing how smart he is 3- when he shows he is kind 4- reading books together 5- laughing at dumb things together
10. If you could take your kids anywhere, where would it be? Back to Disneyland, he keeps asking

11. When's the last time you went out with out your kids? That happens all the time here, my mom always wants Cannon at her house!

12. Most heartbreaking moment as a mom? We were both yelling and screaming at each other a couple of weeks ago. and we both just started to cry. How depressing, when you lose your cool.

13. When's the last time you told your kids I love you? That happens every second around here! He now just answers, "okay"

14. When's the last time you were told I love you? This morning.

I tag: anyone who wants to play, there are some good questions here!!

T-Ball!

Cannon and his Cubs had their first T-Ball game last night. What a fun hour! The kids just cracked me up. The whole team runs for the ball when someone bats it, and most of them ran where ever after batting instead of first base! The point is, they had lots of fun! So did the spectators!

The Lets-Not-Meet-At-A-Funeral Party

Recently, my Great Uncle Nick passed away. My sister and I went to the funeral together, and we had the best time! Is that weird? We saw so many cousins that we haven't seen since the last family funeral. We decided to plan a party and get together on a happier occasion. We are descended from Yugoslavian immigrants. "Bohunk" is an ethnic slur referring to someone of slavic descent. We had these t-shirts made up, and every one wore them, didn't they turn out great?
This is me and my second cousin Billy Brown. He is one of my favorite people on the planet, so funny, and so kind. I kind of think my dad would be a lot like him if he wasn't so cranky.
The people in the middle are Manda and Ivan Matievich, my Great Grandparents. Ivan owned a meat store in Murray when he moved here, apparently a swanky job. Check out that suit! We had lots of old family pics like this at our party. It was a wonderful treat. I love old pictures so much.
