Movie Night!

Last night I got to spend some quality time with some old friends. Allen and Ann. We all used to work in the same salon, and we haven't seen Ann forever! We watched the movie "Stardust".

Have any of you seen this fabulous flick??? It's a wonderful fairy tale. It's a new favorite, up there with "The Princess Bride".

If you haven't seen it, GO BUY IT!! It's that good! Enjoy!

Board Shorts!

Pink WaWa and Grandpa Gary brought these shorts back from California for Cannon. They are now his favorite thing in the world! He's never really gotten hyped about clothes before, so it's cute to see. He wore them to school today.
Then of course we had to go and show Austyn!
We were busy around here over the weekend, we got new rugs for the kitchen/great room, and we made the play room into a baby room. Cannon was at my mom's so we could PURGE toys. Man that felt good! 4 grocery bags full in the trash! We found some cool organizing bins at Ikea, I think that'll work way better than a huge toybox with all the stuff at the bottom. The bins make everything more accessible.
So, the beginning of lots of changes, and we're all excited!

FIRST DAY! WOO HOO!

Today was Cannon's first day of preschool! Yay! Here's how the day went:
We left our house with plenty of time..... we got there 10 minutes early! Only to realize that Cannon forgot his backpack! Doi! Our son is the King of Dinking Around. We rushed back home to get it and got there only 2 minutes late. We walked him in to his classroom and helped him get situated. He had his brave face on. He looked like he was going to cry, then another little girl burst into tears. I guess he thought it would be lame if he did that too, so he was fine to let Greg and I leave then. BUT, I cried on the way to the car! I didn't think I would, but I guess he just looked so big and he was doing his first big boy thing on his own.....

After school, WaWa and I went to pick him up. All the kids started filing out, here came a gaggle of girls, and who did Cannon walk out with? The teacher! I thought that was cute. Then do you know what my precious tender boy said to me? "I have to fart!" Geez, Cannon! At least he didn't do that in class!

He says preschool was pretty fun, but no one made friends with him. I wanted to cry! I told him that the other kids were probably nervous and shy too, and he'd be making friends before he knew it. It's a little lame, most of the kids know each other from church. Since we don't go to church, I guess we'll have to work harder to meet people. The moms were the same way, in a group in the parking lot . DUH! Cannon and I will just stick with the teacher! That's how I made it through my first years in school!

Then we headed off to lunch....... at the SIZZLER!!! Now, we won't go to just any Sizzler. This one is on 90th and State. Good management, VERY clean, VERY fresh food, and it's always yummy. Funny, I went there a lot when I was pregnant with Cannon, now it's his favorite place too! He's in heaven when he can have watermelon, strawberries, grapes and a baked potato all on one plate!

Stacy, Johnny and Michal met us there, and Johnny taught Cannon how to do the "Fire Marshall Bill" face! All in all, a good day!

Hooray for school!

Girls, Girls, Girls!

Well, Cannon officially lives in Girl Town. All the time. And I must say, he's quite comfortable being the rooster in the hen house!
We found out that his pre school class consists of him and one other boy, and 10 girls!!! So funny!
And a sister on the way! He will make a great boyfriend and husband someday!

He is learning how girls behave while eating.....

How to act on a date......
And, how they just can't get enough of you no matter how bad you can't stand it!!!
(he already calls me "the kissing trap"!)

Good luck Cannon boy!

Aunt Stacy

Yesterday my cute sister came over to hang out for a bit. We had lunch, and then she told Cannon she had some projects for him to help with.
Now, remember, she is BRAVE. Both projects were messy, but she is a Jr. High Spanish teacher, so nothing scares her.

The first one was a food storage project. Did you know you can store EGGS UNREFRIDGERATED for 2 YEARS????? I didn't believe it either. You coat them with vaseline and store them pointy side down. Then when you're ready to use them you just wash it off with soap and water. If you want to test the egg, put it in water. If it sinks, it's fine. If it floats, it has air in it and you should chuck it. Amazing!

Next, she asked Cannon to paint her toenails. With RED polish!! Yipes! They looked like bloody stumps afterwards, but Cannon was pleased.

What a fun day with my sister!
