A Little More...

The best part- Aunt Liz's strawberry pie!

Papa Gary can dish it out too!

See what I mean about cute in-laws? They made such a fun Easter for the boys!! I'm sure we grown ups have just as much fun though!
That night, Cannon said he was nervous about the Easter Bunny coming into the house, so he said he wanted the Bunny to leave his basket in the garage!! So we put the carrots out there for him, and Cannon went to look in the garage that morning! He was very happy, prizes and no strangers in the house! Funny kid.

We love it when Cannon has a chance to be with these cousins!! Most of the kids we know his age are all GIRLS!! These boys are all so cute together!!
Smacking the pinata!
Cool prizes at the fishing game.
Papa Gary got silly string-ed by Cannon!

Week 12

This week I am thankful for my in laws! When you marry someone, you really do marry the whole family. I am so glad for Greg's family. His parents are the nicest, cutest, most caring people. Gary is the true all-American Dad. A dad you can have a conversation with, who knew there were such things in the world?
And don't get me started about my mother in law and her sisters!! I call them "Flora, Fauna, and Merrywhether"!!! They are like 3 cute little crafting faries! They all love me so much, and I love them... how lucky am I?
Plus, the way they all love Cannon sends me into the 4th dimention. He is so lucky!
So am I. I hope Greg knows how lucky he is to have grown up in all this fun and love~!

MMmmm... gumballs

I let Cannon have gumballs, one of his favorite treats, because he always spits it in the garbage when he's done.
He got a big gumball machine from my mom when he got his tonsils out...... is it getting out of hand? Today when I got out his train for him, there were gumballs in all the little cars.... and now this tonight!! Dang! He gets his big mouth from me. The upside is that he always shares... I'm smacking on one now as I write this!!

We Don't Need No Stinkin' Food Pyramid!!

A funny conversation I had with my son:
Cannon: "Peeps are fruit!"
Me: "No, they're not. They're junk food, they're made of sugar!"
C: "No, they're fruit!"
Me: "They're not good for you."
C: "Yes they are! I eat them all the time!"

Then later I said I was hungry for some dinner. He said, "Are you going to get a combo? You like combo's."
Hmmm...... time to rethink some things!?

More fun crafts....

I swear, if I'm not crafting, I go insane!! This one was super easy, and the bright colors and the planted seeds make you feel like a little Spring is in your house!!
I just painted some little terra cotta pots with acrylic paint.
Then I used some American Crafts rub-ons, how cute!!

We ARE Lucky!!

This is the view from the house where we stayed. Our good friends flipped us the keys to their BEACH HOUSE, can you believe that? It's in a lovely place called Solana Beach. In perfect San Diego. I swear, it is always the perfect temperature there. We had 2 days to just play on the beach. Heaven. Cannon and Greg have salt water running in their veins.
Here is cute Great-Granny Wise. She lives in Anaheim, so while we were at Disneyland, we took a break to go and visit her and take her to dinner. I think she is the cutest little thing! (She thinks it's so funny that I think that!) She'll be 90 this summer, doesn't she look great?
Greg and Cannon on the rocket ship ride in Tomorrow Land. Cannon's favorite rides were Pirates and Buzz Lightyear. He said he didn't like the Whinnie the Pooh ride, which he called the "Poo Ship" I thought that was funny. He was fine on most rides, as long as we held his hands. We didn't go on any thing wild, though. I'm just too scared. Greg and Cannon went on Splash Mtn., I had a great time just watching!

Week 10

SIGNS OF SPRING!!!!! Hooray!! I am so thankful to realize that there is some green out there!! My Daffodils and Delphinium are coming up! It was sunny today! I had my windows open!
I know we will have more snow, but I also know the worst is over!! What a long, hard winter! The last time we had this much snow was in 1993. I was a high school senior, and school was cancelled for a snow day. I spent the day with my neighborhood friends jumping off a roof into the snow!! (It was piled so high, it wasn't a long drop!)
THINK SPRING!!!!!

Are you ready to PEEP your pants?

This is my latest craft mania. I found these cute old fashioned chicks at World Market and I crocheted some little hats for them. Then I crocheted little flowers for the hats. Then I started making some of them jewelry. Then I found some doll house accesories and put them all in scenes!! I love them! They are so cute! I feel happy when I look at them. It also made me happy to share some. I gave some to Greg's mom, my mom, and Greg's aunt. Old-fashioned AND miniature, does it get any better?
Happy Spring!!

Piper's tonsil story.... (more gross pics!)

I feel the urge to share. This is why we had the Dr. take pictures of Cannon's tonsils, because I had some of mine!! EEEEWWW!! Greg feels left out, no pics of his tonsils!
I was 8. I had had the croup a million times, so I was scheduled to have my tonsils out. My surgery was just before Halloween, so my mom let me have a Halloween party to make up for the fact that I'd get jipped on trick-or-treating. She made me a Pink Panther costume. I thought I was so cool! (Hey Amber and Koli, that little witch with the green face is Haley Laughter!)
I wanted to take my tonsils to school in a jar for show and tell. What a nerd! Of course the Dr. said NO, but he surprised me with some cool polaroids instead. They gave me cherry flavored gas, and I was VERY sick sick sick afterwards. To this day I cannot stand cherry flavored anything. I got jipped, I was too sick for ice cream. All I got was a visit to the ER and a yummy IV!!! I'm glad it wasn't that bad for Cannon! I'm glad he's finally starting to feel a bit better, and sleep in his own bed!

Update...

Apparently, the scabs falling off are worse than the actual surgery itself! Cannon was doing so well, then he hit the wall over the weekend. Puking, fever, headache, crying in pain, and not sleeping. According to the Dr., this is all normal. Poop. Hope he starts feeling better soon. Poor thing.
