Graduation Celebration!

Well, we made it through the first year of preschool!! What a great experience for Cannon. He has the cutest teacher, Mrs. Brown. She is so wonderful and teaches the kids so much! They had a cute program at school today with singing, and speaking parts and everything! It was just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. It makes a Momma cry!

Congratulations, Cannon!

Best Reunion EVER!!!

The Serpentine Posse was back together again yesterday! Well, most of us. I'll take what I can get.

Let's start with the back story.... I was fortunate enough to grow up in a neighborhood that was like a big family. There's not much in common with all of us except where we lived. We were all different ages, races, religions. We all had different types of families at home. Yet, we had the best times ever growing up!! Most of the dumb things that happened should probably be in some teen movie somewhere. Being chased and attacked by bees, and dogs, and Mikey. Sitting out on lawns talking until Bos's street light came on and they had to go in. Waterfights! Digging recon huts in the gully to trap the WATTLINGS. Burn -master tournaments. Make-shift clubhouses. Who was which character in the movie "Goonies". Go-carts that fell apart on the first run. Ice blocking at Eastmont. Toilet papering almost EVERY night in the summertime. Keeping a dead pet rat in a can. Wondering why in the world did Vic think that mohawk look good? Pollywog hunting. Breaking in to Eastmont to play "Smear the Queer", and blaming poor Mikey when the cops came. Adam stealing cookies and still denying it when one rolled out of his pant leg. Making ghetto slip and slides with garbage bags. Tyson NEVER wearing shoes! Bushy wearing a t-shirt that said, "New Kids Under The Block" for about 2 weeks straight. White people break dancing. "Delroy's World" and "Asthma Man". Older kids making gross "potions" and making the younger kids drink it.

You could never ask for a better group of people to share a history with. We may have scattered in different directions, but we will always be here for each other. Hopefully we have learned our lesson and will be together more often.

Now most of us have offspring! How fun to get them all together at Bear Park to make some new memories! I seriously haven't laughed that hard for a long long time.
Thanks everyone for coming!

I've Been Replaced!

This is how Harper prefers to fall asleep now, with a silky on her head hugging her owl that Grandma Sylvia got her. If we try to hold her or rock her she GRUNTS at us until we put her down! Sniff!

Drool Rules!

Harper is drooling and chewing on everything now! Time for bibs!! I'm actually happy about this stage, it means she's past the "Queen Pukey" stage!!! Hooray!

She's also taking naps now without being rocked, which is good, and bad. It's great that she goes to sleep all by herself, but sad that she doesn't need all the attention to get there....

Mush!

I guess this was our big thing we did for Cinco de Mayo!! Harper has been having mush in a bottle for about a month, so I decided to try it with a spoon. She probably wondered what the heck I was doing!! It went okay, she gagged less than Cannon did his first time! I guess that counts as a success!

We'll keep trying. We saw the pediatritian today and he said that after one good week of feeding with a spoon we can try baby food! How exciting!

Spanish Show and Tell

My sister Stacy teaches middle school Spanish. The cool thing is, that when she makes assignments for the kids, she participates too. This week her students are doing "Show and Tell" So that means Stacy does it too!
We went to the school yesterday for 5th period so Cannon and Harper could be her show and tell. She told the class all about them in spanish.

Cannon had practiced saying "Hola, clase", but he chickened out. Oh well.

Harper started crying at the end too. Dang kids!

The big highlight for Cannon was that we stayed and had school lunch with Stacy! I swear, the chicken nuggets taste exactly the same! And, what a perk being with a teacher. You get to butt in at the front of the line and eat in the nice quiet faculty room!
And, some floppy haired teen almost walked into Cannon and Stacy yelled, "HEY!! WATCH OUT FOR THE LITTLE KID!!!" She yells louder than me, can you believe it?
