Better Days...

My mother is a genious! She told Cannon a "story" about a little boy who was so mean to his mom that he got his Spiderman backpack taken away..... She is the queen of reverse and passive psychology!! So, it sank in very deeply with Cannon. Now I just remind him of the story, and point to his beloved backpack, and everyone is happy! No more power struggle! No more yelling, or threatening, or losing our tempers! Hooray!!!

HELP!!!

So I came down to the office to blog, instead of yelling at my kid, because it does no good!! Man, has he been on a naughty streak lately! What do you do when your 2 year old is acting like a 2 year old?
Today has been a non-minding day. Cannon REFUSED to take a nap, which in turn frustrates me because it's obvious he needs one. He is so cranky! It's 7:00pm now, and he's locked in his room because while I was trying to put his pajamas on he kicked me in the head and said, "Get your *sshole out of my face!" Now, I'll give him the creative use of a swear word, and any other day I'd laugh it off, but MAN!! I am at my wit's end!! Does anyone have any advice?

Scarecrow Festival

We made our 2nd annual trip to the Scarecrow Festival this year, what a good time! We went with our good friends Melissa, Alex and Riley Nickel. The kids had so much fun fishing, playing carnival games, getting their faces painted and riding on the train! I can't wait for next year!

Gregory

Just a note to say in print how great my husband is. Yes, he can be cranky at times, but he more than makes up for it. He is so patient, and kind, and funny. It is so nice to still be in love after all these years! I never knew that could happen!

He is such a great Dad to Cannon. I love to see the deep love and admiration they have for each other. Cannon says his favorite thing to do with Daddy is "eat Marshmallow Mateys"! Also, they watch Harry Potter movies and eat ice cream on weekend nights.

We are very fortunate to have each other, our cute little family in our cute little house.

Fishin'

Now that the weather has cooled off, we are finding more activities to do inside. Luckily, Cannon likes to help with the chores. (He is a great vacuumer!)

Something that I have discovered is that he is old enough to play games! We have recently gotten Candyland, and Memory, but his favorite is this Fishing game! Remember this? I am amazed by his patience! I love how he sticks his tongue out when he's concentrating! I find myself doing this too when I see him! It's almost like if your mouth is open, then the fish will open their mouths too.......

We Heart Pee Wee

Cannon is for sure my child! One day on our "on demand" feature with Comcast, I discovered some old episodes of Pee Wee's Playhouse. I put it on more for me than for Cannon, but now he LOVES it and requests to watch it! It was made over 20 years ago, and it's still great! It's interesting to see all the people that are famous today on that show, like S. Epatha Merkerson, Lawrence Fishburne, and Phil Hartman. Danny Elfman did the music and Sally Hershberger did the hair! If you have a chance, you should check it out!!

The GREAT Pumpkin

Yesterday we brought home pumpkins that Cannon grew at my mom's house. (Cannon calls her Wa Wa) He grew a HUGE one this year! There must have been some hanky panky in the garden because the other one looks like it morphed with a squash! We love fall and Halloween around here! We have already been carving pie pumpkins just to roast the seeds!! I hope to have pics of "Pumpkin Town" by the end of October.
