Dye Job

Tonight we prepared our Easter Eggs!

I really love dying Easter eggs!
And, so do the kids. Cannon is old enough to try to be artistic, and Harper is old enough to actually get it! And participate!

Big, fun! Now we're ready for our Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow!

Very Pinteresting...

I'm pretty sure by now you all know about Pinterest.  I LOVE IT!   I love it because it's full of stuff that appeals to me, and my eye.  And it's full of stuff that I can/will actually do!

I saw a picture of a darling pillow with felt birdies sewn to it.  I thought, "I can do that!  I WANT to do that!"
So, I went to The Handmaiden in Sandy.  Have you been there???  A wonderful sewing/craft shop.  I spent about $7.00 on some pieces of wool felt.

Then at Hobby Lobby I used my COUPON
and got a couple of yards of twill.  I think that was around $7.00 as well.
I came home and got to work!

The birdie pillow turned out SO CUTE!!!
I sewed it with an envelope closure on the back and put it on a 16X16 pillow form.  Then I made another one for my friend for her birthday.

Then I got a little nuts and made a pennant pillow, and put some more birdies in a frame.

So, now there is a lot of matchy stuff in my living room, but who cares, right?

SO FUN!  And it is all so cute!  And- I still have twill and felt left, so call me if you need some! ;)

Sea Creatures

It is an absolute life science fest at the beach!!

So much to see, and so much to learn. It's pretty much like being in the movies Finding Nemo and The Little Mermaid.

We saw "Sea Enemies" ;)

Sea urchins, sea stars, (live ones) and plenty of sand crabs and hermit crabs. Creepy for the mom, fun for the kids!

And LOTS and lots of seaweed.

Stomp on it, or pull a big clump of it around while your sister sings "Poor Unfortunate Soul"! :)

Disneyland!

This year was the best Disneyland trip ever! The kids are just the right ages for it to be PERFECT for each of them in their own way.

Cannon and Greg were into the RIDES. The big scary rides. Harper and I are NOT. So, off the boys went to ride rollercoasters, and Harper and I rode the kiddie rides, met characters, and browsed around shops.

We all had the best time ever!

Visiting

One thing Greg really wanted to do on this trip was visit his childhood home, and the neighbors that still live there.
I have often heard Greg and his family talking fondly of growing up on Jay Street, next to Toochie and Alan. We went to see Toochie and Alan, and I can see why everyone loved them, and still does after all these years.

Cute, cute people! Harper especially loved it there, because the had poodles, and chickens, and a cat! (oh my!) She was in Heaven with all the animals, and Toochie had her help gather eggs from the chicken coop, and she thought that was just about the coolest thing ever!

We always always make sure we go and see Great-Granny in Anaheim. Cute Grandma June. Harper was calling her "Grandma Junior" :) She is in her 90's, but still so wonderful! She is always fun to visit. We also got to see Greg's Uncle Dave and Aunt Jan. Love the family visits!

Beach Combing...

We are beach combers! We could really spend every day at the beach and be happy as can be.

At Solana Beach, there are quite a few stairs to get to and from the beach. This is the top section. On the way up, you just have to tell yourself you can make it! Great exercise, especially if you're carrying a kid!

Everybody is happy at the beach! Lots of digging, walking, getting your feet wet, and searching for the perfect sea shells.

My favorite is the sunset. You just can't beat the beauty of the sun setting on the ocean. :)

Sightseeing

We had plenty of time while we were in California this year for sightseeing. Just driving around, and seeing where we ended up!

We found an old Catholic Mission, and also visited the Navy Pier in San Diego.

Lots of places for pictures, and lots of neat stuff for the kids to see.
