FIRST DAY! WOO HOO!

Today was Cannon's first day of preschool! Yay! Here's how the day went:
We left our house with plenty of time..... we got there 10 minutes early! Only to realize that Cannon forgot his backpack! Doi! Our son is the King of Dinking Around. We rushed back home to get it and got there only 2 minutes late. We walked him in to his classroom and helped him get situated. He had his brave face on. He looked like he was going to cry, then another little girl burst into tears. I guess he thought it would be lame if he did that too, so he was fine to let Greg and I leave then. BUT, I cried on the way to the car! I didn't think I would, but I guess he just looked so big and he was doing his first big boy thing on his own.....

After school, WaWa and I went to pick him up. All the kids started filing out, here came a gaggle of girls, and who did Cannon walk out with? The teacher! I thought that was cute. Then do you know what my precious tender boy said to me? "I have to fart!" Geez, Cannon! At least he didn't do that in class!

He says preschool was pretty fun, but no one made friends with him. I wanted to cry! I told him that the other kids were probably nervous and shy too, and he'd be making friends before he knew it. It's a little lame, most of the kids know each other from church. Since we don't go to church, I guess we'll have to work harder to meet people. The moms were the same way, in a group in the parking lot . DUH! Cannon and I will just stick with the teacher! That's how I made it through my first years in school!

Then we headed off to lunch....... at the SIZZLER!!! Now, we won't go to just any Sizzler. This one is on 90th and State. Good management, VERY clean, VERY fresh food, and it's always yummy. Funny, I went there a lot when I was pregnant with Cannon, now it's his favorite place too! He's in heaven when he can have watermelon, strawberries, grapes and a baked potato all on one plate!

Stacy, Johnny and Michal met us there, and Johnny taught Cannon how to do the "Fire Marshall Bill" face! All in all, a good day!

Hooray for school!

What a big boy! I'm feeling you when you don't think they are making friends. It will get better. I promise. Those mom's better shape up though. I'll come up and whip them into shape! I want Sizzler.....we don't have it here:(

Yay for Cannon! It's so fun to watch our boys take this huge HUGE step! Jordan doesn't start for two more weeks, and I'm sure I'll be a wreck and he'll be as cool as a cucumber. Oh, and P.S. I would LOVE to do a book swap with you! Do you have the sequel to The Kissing Hand? Because if not I want to get it for you as a baby present!!

TOO CUTE!! IN PRESCHOOL already! HOLY COW!! Crazy. I love the words you use on your posts, e.g. "doi" and "dinking around" I can totally hear your voice!
in response to your questions..

So cute and YAY for Cannon for his first day of school! I remember crying the first day I dropped Alex off at preschool (and the next year and Kindergarten, I am sure I will this year too -lol). It is a big step and huge for us as parents just as much for them!!!

He looks so cute with his backpack on! I can't believe he's old enough to go to preschool. Before he knows it, he'll be the king of the class. Give him a big hug for me.

Go Cannon! How fun and exciting. Now you can have a little break during the day for some pregnant naps. Those always felt sooo darn good.
