Today...
Greg took the kids to the park today. He is the MOST wonderful photographer! Just thought I'd share a few. Picassa only lets me blog 4 at a time, so I'll probably post more tomorrow. These are some of my favorites. GREAT job, Greg!

Rad Grad
Today marked the official end of preschool for Cannon!
They had a program, complete with speaking parts and songs. SO cute! I love every second of it! All the cute little kids, dressed up so nice, and so nervous!
I always cry during the pledge and the "America" song. What a nerd.
I made Cannon wear a real tie. He was mad, he wanted to wear a clip on. What EVER. I talked him into it though, because I told him he could wear one of Grandpa Johnny Mack's tie tacks, and those only work with real ties. ;)
I'm not sure about the face he's making, but here's his cute teacher. We will surely miss her! She is so wonderful with all the children. They have so much fun and learn so much!
We also got a picture of Cannon and a couple of his friends. (this is the girl he likes!!! he says he wants to "try to marry her" when he grows up!) So cute! I guess she fell off her bike this morning and scraped her nose off, but I think she's cute anyway!
Way to go Cannon Boy! Next stop, KINDERGARTEN!!!!!!

Oh, My Son....
So, I think people in general are for the most part weird. Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the worse.
And kids are weird too, right? It is so weird to be a parent and think, "What in the world is my child doing?" But, at the same time thinking how strange the things you used to do seemed to your own parents.
Enter: Cannon. He is very inventive. He is very patient. He is very smart. Also, very good at stalling at bedtime. Here's what we got the other night: "Mom! Dad! I made a lawn mower out of tinker toys!"
"That's great son, can you please go back to your room? It's bedtime."
"No! I want you to take a picture! I had to keep re-doing it so the handles were long enough and I didn't have to bend over!"
Ok. So we got the camera. I pointed it. And he came up with this pose???? Getting your Captain on or what?
Then, we got a picture of the lawn mower in action.
Then, I got a picture of his cute face. See that dot? Do you think someone's got a sight on him? Do you think he's moving to India? NO.
There was a suction cup in the back seat that had fallen off a window shade.
"Cannon, give that to me. Cannon, get it off your face! CANNON STOP!!! THAT WILL LEAVE A MARK!!!!"
Then I hear: "MOM! It's stuck!"
Ya. Don't listen son, because I'm NEVER telling you the truth!!!! This happened Sunday, and today, Thursday, it's still blazing strong.
I've been trying all of the "hickey tricks" from High School: toothpaste, a penny, a cold spoon..... nothin'. They never worked back in the day either!!!
I'm sure this is not the last time I will shake my head and laugh at this boy!

Tubin'
Harper made it through her ear tubes surgery successfully!
Here she is, not very happy at first. In an itchy gown, and wondering why we won't feed her.
Then... the medicine!!! ooooohhh a loopy baby!
She is definitely dazed, and she wouldn't let go of her markers!
Everything was easy, just like everyone said. She was only back there for 5 minutes before they came and got us in the waiting room.
Of course being my daughter, she has a set of LUNGS on her! She screamed when she was waking up! One of the nurses came in and said, "Oh, she's famous! We can hear hear all over the building!"
She only dry-heaved a couple of times on the way home. She drank her bottle and had some cereal.
Here she is safe at home! Almost like nothing happened! We watched "The Princess and the Frog", and she went down for a nap!
Hopefully no more ear infections for the poor little thing, which means more sleep for all of us!

The Progression Of Motherhood.
First, it's your special day, Mother's Day. You sit down for a picture with your children. A lot to ask for two little squirmy bodies.
Then, the boy gets that naughty look in his eye. Try to stay calm. Get the baby's attention. Try to get them both to look at the camera. TRY TO LOOK HAPPY, DAMMIT!
Now the Mamma's pissed. It's all downhill from here.
Then Cannon gets bonked in the face and Harper starts to cry because I am laughing. Weird, huh? She gets her feelings hurt if we laugh.
Cannon wants me to check if he's bleeding, and Harper still can't be consoled. It's still all funny to me!

Because of You...
...everything I say and do matters. ...I choose my words more carefully. ...I realize sleep is a precious commodity.
....laughing is most important. ...every day matters. ....little things matter the most. ...I have learned patience.
... I believe in miracles. ...I realize perfection is not important. ...time is precious. .....family is everything.
...I love my own mother even more.
Because of you, I am a Mother.
